WHAT IS ROUND TRIP WITH DAVE O?
Benztown’s “Round Trip With Dave O” is a two hour trip to the pop charts of the 1990’s, complete with a weekly interview from a prominent 1990’s pop star. All interviews are original and done by Dave O. Recent show guests include Third Eye Blind, Jennifer Lopez, Barenaked Ladies, C&C Music Factory, Spin Doctors, Lisa Loeb, Lit & Right Said Fred.
The show is fully imaged with a jingle package (the old Blink in New York City) and two voice professionals. Each episode features prize giveaways, phone calls from your P1’s from our 800 number, artist information/updates and fresh hosting from one of America’s premier CHR talents. Dave O currently hosts afternoon drive at KMXV in Kansas City, and has also had full-time stints at WAPE “The Big Ape” in Jacksonville and WNKS “Kiss” in Charlotte. The show plays a minimum of 23 songs during its two hours.
HOW IS ROUND TRIP WITH DAVE O DIFFERENT FROM OTHER WEEKEND RETRO SHOWS, AND WHY DO I NEED IT?
The show is set up as a program for LISTENERS FIRST. Dave O puts YOUR MARKET CALLERS on the air, takes requests via the toll free number, social media and website, and makes the experience feel as if its a live major market afternoon show, rather than an outdated and obvious syndicated weekend show.
Further, with just four stop sets, this show is designed for the 2013 listener, who has more options than ever, and for the 2013 programmer, who wants forward momentum and lots of music, while still providing “to the point” content.
Finally, the music is well researched. You get the best of the 1990’s and “throw your 25-54 females a bone” each weekend by giving them two hours of 1990’s. Your listeners were in their formative years in the ’90’s, between high school, college, starting their first job and having their first kid. Have fun with them and give them a two hour escape each weekend, and let them hear from all the artists themselves!
HOW DOES THE BARTER WORK?
Benztown’s “Round Trip With Dave O” requires only 4 units of barter spots per hour of the show, for eight (8) total per week.
Segments are designed so that your local automation system will NEVER drop spots. Meaning, hour one ends well before the top of the hour (around :52), and hour two’s spots are played well before :45 after.
WHEN CAN THE SHOW BE AIRED?
The show can be run any time you prefer between 6 AM and 10 PM each Saturday or Sunday, and is accessed with a quick FTP download that is specific to your radio station. Without exception, the upcoming weekend’s show is available for download on the preceding Monday at 12 noon central time.
